Whether you want to see a concert, play, ballet or film, there are a number of great venues to choose from.
Based in Stoke city centre, the Regent Theatre was constructed in 1929, originally as a cinema. Famous for its Art Deco style, it closed in 1989 but reopened as a theatre after a three-year £23 million restoration project.
It has hosted many musicals, touring plays, operas and comedy shows from the West End and Broadway, such as Cats, Starlight Express and Mamma Mia! Fancy singing along to your favourite show? Grab a ticket for their latest show through their website.
Originally built as an annex to Hanley Town Hall in 1988, this impressive concert hall formed part of Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee celebrations. The building has undergone extensive renovation over the years and the 1400-seat auditorium now serves as one of the top comedy and music venues in the country.
A particular favourite amongst lovers of comedy, the Victoria Hall has seen top acts like Dawn French, Al Murray and Sarah Millican perform here over the years.
There are also many fantastic, smaller venues, such as The New Vic in Newcastle-under-Lyme, built in-the-round.
Or The Stoke on Trent Repertory Theatre on Leek Road in Stoke which puts on several local productions throughout the year.
Plus, the Mitchell Arts Centre on Broad Street, Hanley, where you can choose from a varied programme of events including music, theatre, dance, panto, film, and screenings of opera and ballet.
Why not kick off the evening with one of our sensational cocktails? Sample our signature drink, The Orange Tree, with spiced rum, passion fruit liqueur and fresh orange. And don’t forget to grab a pic for your Insta.
As for the main event, try our slow cooked pork rib with barbecue sauce, celeriac slaw, crispy onion and skin on fries. Or how about our chorizo crusted salmon fillet with crispy potato terrine, sweetcorn chowder, cherry tomatoes and chargrilled baby leeks?
And for the finale, treat yourself to our chocolate & salted caramel tart or our white hot chocolate cookie dough. Hey, it’s theatre night after all.
To drink, choose a chilled Chardonnay or a full-bodied Rioja from our extensive wine list. Plus, if you’re the designated driver, there’s a non-alcoholic sparkling spumante.
Why rush to get food on the table before you leave? Make your theatre visit a really special night and dine out in style at The Orange Tree first. Who knows, you may even bump into the star of the show! Previously, we’ve had the pleasure of hosting names such as Jack Whitehall, Freddie Flintoff and Russell Howard during their theatre stint.
